New Year in Russia is a very happy holiday. We celebrate it on 31 December and don't sleep at night. Ded Moroz brings us presents. He is a kind man. He wears red coat and white beard. Ded Moroz lives in the north, in Veliky Ustug. On New Year he comes to children with presents. Ded Moroz has a grandaughter, Sneguroshka. She always comes with him and helps.
For New Year we decorate the tree. We cook tasty food and visit our relatives and friends.
We celebrate New Year at school on class parties. We wear costumes and have costumes competitions. Ded Moroz and Sneguroshka come to school party with presents too. After New Year we have winter holidays.
