Lincoln School Traditions
Turkey Trot- An event in which you run, walk, or trot around the field
and win frozen turkeys.
Cinco de Mayo- When the Spanish Immersion classes come together and
dance dances from Latin American countries.
Memorial Day/award assembly- Memorial Day is when our whole school
remembers the people who served or country. After that the fifth graders
get awads at the end of the year.
Peer Mediation- That is where five students from each fifth grade class
are chosen to help solve problems that people have.
Talent Show- This is an event in which kids show their talents.
Heart Day- a day where everybody wears red.
St. Patrick's day- a day where everybody wears green.
Holiday Sing- A time where all the kids sing songs about holidays.
Book fair/Ice cream social-The book fair is where Scholastic (a book
company) has a fair when people buy books. Fifth graders make ice cream
sundaes and serve it for service team.
Picture Day- Is when everyone gets their picture taken.
Carnival-In the middle of the year the PTO holds a carnival a gives away
prizes and food.
Earth day-We make stuff to represent the earth and we make stuff about
the earth.
Halloween parade- It is a parade where all the kids dress up and walk
around the school in a costume.
Ethnic festival-A parade and party where schools with language programs
march around the block and celebrate diversity.
Olympic day- A day where kids do many events around the school.
Spirit day- A day where kids wear school spirit wear.
