The Hand that Squeezes
(Mexican legend)

The ones who lost their breath for a little during a normal day of their childhood, between the wagons of the trains of Nacozari or Pilares, will never forget the horrendous hand lurking in the dark trying to give horrible punishment to whomever adventures to go to the train rails at night. This hand is always inventing bad things.
The hand that squeezes legend was born with the first trains that went to Pilares and from there its unfortunate fame has spread throughout the region.
Sometimes Guillermo Moreno Ruiz, a train engineer now dead, remembered seeing this hand during his first years as an engineer. It looks like an enormous glove, without flesh or nails. Rolling between the silent train cars, lying in the greasy iron bars of the crash locks. If the vision was fleeting, other little friends considered it was all about "the Hand that squeezes", the one who made a swift movement taking the children's neck and squeezing until they could not breathe anymore. It is told that the hand belonged to a train conductor that lost it thanks to some children fond of traveling. In the palm is a glove made of fur that was never found.
This legend of the "The Hand that squeezes" is a revenge of this train conductor for the children.
