A long time ago, in the "kissing" alley there lived two people in love, named Ana and Carlos. Ana was a rich lady and she lived on the left side, Carlos was a poor man and lived on the right side.
The father of Ana didn't like that his daughter marry Carlos because he was a poor man, he preferred that his daughter marry a rich man that was of the same class of her, because he wanted them to become rich and live happy forever.
One night the father went upstairs, and he was surprised because he saw his daughter and the poor man kissing. He said to his daughter that if the next night he saw her kissing that poor man he will assassinate her.
She was the only daughter so she didn't take it seriously. The next night, the same thing occurred and the father of Ana take a knife, went upstairs, he put the knife in the back of his daughter. Ana at the end stretched her right arm towards her lover and the poor man takes her arm and lastly kisses her beautiful hand.
That's why they say the most romantic and narrow part of the street is the "kissing" alley. Right now it stays as a tradition. That all the lovers, friends or couples that pass through the "kissing" alley kiss. If they don' t kiss on the third stair numbering them from bottom to top, they will have 7 years bad luck. If they kiss they will have good luck during 15 years. If they a not a couple nothing will happen.
The street is very narrow at that point and you can reach from one side to the other of the street. This place still exists and it is in Guanajuato.
